Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor.

We’ve been safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836, and strive to build a better society, while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders.

We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income.

Our Group Functions provide the services that all areas of the business need. This requires a talented and diverse team behind the scenes, who enable everyone at L&G to do what they do best.

Joining us means helping to improve the lives of our customers and contributing to the success of the business every day.

Job Description

We’re looking for a proactive and collaborative Project Manager to join our Group CTO function. You’ll play a key role in delivering impactful projects that support our technology and business transformation agenda. Working with a wide range of stakeholders, you’ll help shape outcomes, embed change effectively, and ensure seamless transition into Business‑as‑Usual operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, problem‑solving, and making a meaningful difference in a supportive, people‑centred environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing end‑to‑end delivery of projects across the full lifecycle, including definition, planning, execution and implementation
  • Engaging and collaborating with sponsors, stakeholders and the Portfolio & Change team to enable successful project outcomes
  • Co‑ordinating governance, controls, financial tracking and resource management activity
  • Managing agreed steps for smooth handover of projects into Business‑as‑Usual operations
  • Operating project management frameworks, processes and systems to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery aligned to customer experience standards
  • Identifying, assessing and tracking risks, and developing mitigation actions through the appropriate forums
  • Building positive working relationships with third‑party suppliers and internal technology teams
  • Supporting continuous improvement activity within project and service management environments

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience applying project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile) in a practical and balanced way
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills across all organisational levels
  • Analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with confidence interpreting financial or project‑related data
  • Ability to prioritise, organise and manage workload effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments, including exposure to senior leaders
  • Collaborative mindset with an ability to influence and contribute to shared delivery goals
  • Demonstrated capability in managing change, governance and project‑related controls
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a desire to support and mentor colleagues when needed

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance -related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
  • Generous pension contribution
  • Life assurance
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
  • There are the many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
  • We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience
