Job Description
We’re recruiting for a Investment Operations Product Owner to join us.
This senior individual contributor role is for a self-driven Product Owner with end-to-end accountability for the Investment Operations Product within LGIR. Responsible for investment asset data, accounting, service oversight, onboarding, and transformation, the Product Owner defines the vision, roadmap, and backlog to deliver accurate, well-controlled, and responsive capabilities. Leading a virtual team across functions, they align priorities, coordinate delivery, and drive business value through influence and collaboration across Investments, Finance, ALM, Risk, Technology, and Operations.
What you'll be doing:
- Defining and owning the Investment Operations product vision, aligning with LGIR’s strategic and operational objectives and articulating a clear value proposition to demonstrate its contribution to investment execution, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and business growth
- Evolving the product vision continuously to remain responsive to market, regulatory, and business change
- Developing and maintaining a multi-year roadmap, applying structured prioritisation methods to maximise value across business, regulatory, and operational outcomes, balancing transformation with incremental delivery, and clearly communicating the roadmap to stakeholders
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define clear user stories, business outcomes, and acceptance criteria, while owning and managing the backlog of Investment Operations initiatives across data, accounting, controls, onboarding, and service oversight, and conducting regular backlog grooming sessions with the virtual team
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders (including Investments, Finance, ALM, Risk, and Technology), integrating user and stakeholder input into the product lifecycle, and acting as the voice of the customer and single point of contact for Investment Operations priorities
- Partnering with delivery teams (internal change, technology, and external MSPs) to break initiatives into phased releases that deliver incremental value, establishing clear operational readiness, data quality, and control adherence criteria to ensure releases are tested, predictable, and well-communicated
- Embedding a continuous improvement mindset in the product, capturing learnings through retrospectives and incidents, and defining and tracking product KPIs across data quality, operational efficiency, service performance, and stakeholder satisfaction to inform roadmap reprioritisation and decision making
- Identifying and assessing risks (including operational, regulatory, and data-related) across Investment Operations, embedding appropriate governance, controls, and contingency frameworks in product delivery, and ensuring adaptability in responding to regulatory requirements (e.g., Solvency II, IFRS 17, PRA, Bermuda)
- Engaging stakeholders and undertaking appropriate testing prior to implementing systems or business changes to ensure the impact on internal stakeholders and customers is understood
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- Strong understanding of investment operations processes (data, accounting, onboarding, oversight, reporting)
- Familiarity with regulatory and accounting frameworks (Solvency II, IFRS, PRA, Bermuda)
- Excellent skills in product ownership practices, agile delivery, backlog management, and roadmap planning · Strong ability to manage stakeholders and influence outcomes across diverse functions and seniority levels
- Analytical skills to evaluate data, process, and service performance, driving evidence-based decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to distil complex topics into concise messages
- Proven track record as a Product Owner or Product Manager within investment operations, asset servicing, or broader financial services
- Demonstrable success in driving operational improvements, automation, or data initiatives through structured product ownership
- Experience engaging with C-suite stakeholders as well as operational teams
- Experience coordinating or leading virtual teams spanning multiple functions and geographies
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, operations, or technology, desirable, but not essential, with equivalent experience
