Job Description
We’re excited to now be recruiting for a Business Data Analyst to join us within our Chief Data Office. This role will be working across our business within Asset Management and L&G more broadly, to ensure we put data at the very heart of our operating model.
What you'll be doing:
- Engaging with business stakeholders across the organisation to understand their business goals and challenges. From these develop requirements and design small-scale data solutions.
- Actively communicating with the key stakeholders – Business users, Solution and data Architects, Engineers, Data). Working with our customers, members of the Chief Data Office Team, Technology and the Change team to gather requirements in the form of User Stories, Features, Epics.
- Delivering analysis artefacts including user stories, data flows, service descriptions with defined acceptance criteria and any associated mapping specifications for development and testing
- Organising, cleansing, aligning, and correlating vast, complicated data sets to gain insight.
- Utilising modern data visualization platforms (Tableau and PowerBI), their different components and understand how they fit into our strategic architecture.
- Investigating Data Issues and identifying root causes for data issues collaborating with all Data Stakeholders to enable a complete understanding of problems and solutions.
- Driving the addition of new attributes, data quality controls and critical data elements to the Data Masters whilst ensuring alignment to our Data Management Policy
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- Experience of working on Data project/s in the Asset Management Industry.
- Aptitude for investigation and requirements gathering
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the Asset Management Industry, financial products, technologies and data domains
- Experience with data modelling, error-handling, version control, and unit testing and adept at building scalable and robust data pipelines.
- Collaborative approach to working with developers, architects, the Data Management Team and subject matter experts alike, to establish the facts, and ensure good communication of requirements
- Good understanding of data governance concepts including data domains, data ownership, data stewardship and application of critical data element standards and definitions
- Experience and knowledge of Data Quality dimensions and how to define DQ rules, metrics, validation processes and DQ Dashboards
- Ability to understand complex data flows and map data movement at data attribute level, across operational business processes
