Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Service Charge Coordinator to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary with occassional travel to our office. You will support the Service Charge Manager and internal and external colleagues to ensure consistent, accurate and realistic service charges are set for all schemes coming through the approval process. Be responsible for annual review of rent and service charges with our external suppliers and internal Stakeholders.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Service charge modelling for the first stages of our internal scheme approval process in liaison with Development colleagues
    • Reviewing of service charges ahead of the second stage of our internal scheme approval process - checking all amendments from stage one have been made or explained where not required
    • Service charge reviewing and amending pre operational scheme handover for sign off by the Service Charge Manager
    • Updating Brolly (our internal Housing Management System) with finalised service charges in advance of letting or sale
    • Liaising with Development and managing agent/ManCo ensuring an up to date budget is received and checked
    • Ensuring the service charge model is kept up to date with changes to schedule of rates costs and other variable factors
    • Acting as point of contact for customer queries and complaints regarding service charges where these cannot be closed by our management providers
    • Contributing to internal and external audit and regulatory returns/Performance reporting

    Qualifications

    Who we're looking for:

    • Proven experience of service charge budgeting and reconciliation
    • Knowledge and experience of affordable housing sector
    • Solid understanding of the importance of building and maintaining relationships for the mutual benefit of all external and internal parties
    • An understanding of key service charge legislation
    • Experience of working with Housing Management Systems and an understanding of the importance of keeping the information in such systems up to date
    • Interest in developing systems to support the business with service charge setting and reporting
    • Responding to customer queries and complaints regarding service charges
