Job Description

LGIM’s Global Analytics team is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining a firm wide strategic source for instrument, portfolio and client level analytics. This involves evaluation, selection of off-the-shelf analytics service provider(s), methodologies and utilizing internally built solutions that are able to support LGIM’s complex investment analytics needs. The team is servicing Investment Desks across LGIM, Second line (incl. Investment Risk and Compliance), as well as Reporting functions. The aim of this role is to bring investment analytics expertise to the team. It requires experience and understanding of our current analytics capabilities and solutions; how they are used by various business functions. The person in this role must have the ability to understand and challenge existing methodologies and practices; needs to be instrumental in defining a new suite of investment risk analytics solutions by utilising internal and external solutions. 

What you'll be doing 

  • Actively contributing to the drive towards a firm wide solution to the source, standardising and storing LGIM client and portfolio transaction and holdings data, with the aim of building client account / portfolio views. Working closely with the CDO and Investments teams to review current data sets, identifying gaps and best data sources to fill in those. Analysing and defining the data needs and standards of client and portfolio level performance, risk, portfolio management and reporting functions and processes.
  • Being accountable for the timely production of analytics; Partner with third party vendor to maintain full coverage and accuracy across all asset classes and desks;
  • Conducting detailed analysis on risk and pricing methodologies and on their use cases; documenting them with the aim to support the decision on and build out of global analytics capabilities.
  • Contributing to the QA checks framework for instrument and portfolio level analytics.
  • Working closely with the PMO and Change Delivery teams in identifying / designing processes and technology/systems enhancements, improving scalability and efficiency across the firm. Promoting and facilitating collaboration and consistency in processes and approach to analytics across teams.
  • Being instrumental in engaging with other areas such as Investments, Risk, IT, Distribution and Data, developing robust and scalable end-to-end solutions.
  • Keeping well informed on new product launches, new service offerings and changes to client / consultant requirements, anticipating impact on the Analytics team, being able to proactively respond.
  • Staying well informed about markets, investments, methodologies and LGIM’s products, initiatives and investor requirements. 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience: analytical or quantitative function, investment risk management or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of VaR, risk sensitivities, scenarios and risk limits.
  • Quantitative Degree.
  • Knowledge and experience across a range of markets and products (in particular credit/fixed income and equity)
  • Understanding of derivatives including pricing and risk modelling.
  • Tactical programming (SQL, Python).
  • Previous experience of the Axioma Risk and Bloomberg Port+ products advantageous.
