General Manager - Sri Lankan Restaurant
Job Description
Our client is looking for a General Manager for their soon to open 60 seater restaurant in the Carnaby Street area which will focus on serving Sri Lankan cuisine. This is a genuine role that has the scope to grow into an Operations title as more sites are currently being searched for.
The General Managers focus will be the consistent delivery of high standards of service and ensuring the business is as profitable as possible. A key area of responsibility will be training staff to the correct level and managing the assistant manager and supervisors to ensure that service standards remain the same when the successful candidate is off. The restaurant will operate a no bookings policy so it is a must that you are able to turn tables quickly.
The Role
·Have the drive to develop the restaurant product and the people around you.
·Ensure the team have a natural passion for delivering great service and entrepreneurial drive for up selling
·Be involved in the marketing strategy and be commercially aware in promoting the restaurant.
·Be able to control and report on the financials as well as other areas of the business on a weekly basis.
·Ensure the team have excellent product knowledge of all menus.
·Performance management of the team through, training, coaching and support.
·Set, implement and maintain restaurant SOPs.
·You should have strong leadership qualities, be a good communicator and very ambitious in nature
·Run services and events as required. You are expected to be working on the floor more than be in an office!

Salary and Benefits
•My client is offering the successful General Manager a salary between £40,000 and £45,000 dependent on experience plus bonus
•Working 5 out of 7 days.
