We're seeking hyper-motivated Tech Leadership Fellows to assist with the delivery of our upcoming evening LC101 class in St. Louis, MO.

LaunchCode's LC101

LC101 is a unique class that helps students develop the coding skills that will prepare them for apprenticeships in computer programming and information technology. LC101 combines world-class online curriculum with dynamic in-person instruction and specialized skill tracks aligned with employer demand. LC101 focuses on web foundations which is taught in JavaScript.

Tech Leadership Fellow Responsibilities

LaunchCode is seeking highly motivated individuals to serve as contracted Tech Leadership Fellows (TLFs) for LC101. TLFs assist with instruction, lead an "Advisory Group" of students, and assist students through the coursework. TLFs are required to become familiar with the class materials and assignments before class begins. This role reports to the course Instructor.

What We Offer

This is a contracted, part-time, paid position. Tech Leadership Fellow training will run for two weeks prior to the class, then the class will run for 20 weeks, beginning January 23, 2020, and running through June 18, 2020. The class will meet Mondays & Thursdays from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Salus Center on Saint Louis University’s South Campus

Tech Leadership Fellows will be paid $12.50/hr and will work 10 hours a week. All training prior to the class is also paid $12.50/hour. As contractors, TLFs are not eligible for employee benefits.

Qualifications

We’re Looking for Fellows Who:
  • Are a great, proactive leaders
  • Are armed with a solid understanding of technical concepts (like an LC101 graduate, CS student or graduate, professional programmer, programming enthusiast engaged in the local tech scene)
  • Have a passion for programming, particularly in back end Java
  • Are strong communicators - you’re comfortable leading small groups and one-on-one instruction
  • Have perception and patience (knowing when a student needs help)
  • Have a growth mindset
  • Are detail-oriented
  • Have experience in teaching, mentoring, or tutoring
