Job Description

The Opportunity

At Laps, we believe that transportation is one of the most important constituents of a successful circular economy ecosystem. Reporting to the VP- Supply Chain, the Logistics Manager will lead our transportation solutions across North America, the UK and Europe. He/ She will be directly responsible for our carrier performance, transportation cost and will drive all projects geared towards establishing a superior delivery and reverse logistics experience for our worldwide customers.

 

Responsibilities :

  • Manage all carriers’ performance w.r.t inbound and outbound delivery SLA (Ship to deliver)
  • Work closely with fulfillment operations and customer service to ensure seamless delivery of sale and purchase orders
  • Develop and lead our last mile pick up project in North America
  • Own and strengthen commercial / operational relationships with our 3PL carriers; lead the contract negotiation process towards continuous optimization of service and cost
  • Introduce new and relevant service offerings such as same day / next day delivery,
  • Set up and manage a robust exception management process – including carrier claims, parcel tracing, customs troubleshooting and peak planning
  • Conceptualize, document, and drive the transportation tech requirements with product team
  • Hire and manage logistics coordinator/s depending on business needs
  • Responsible for developing, generating, and analyzing transportation metrics with the support of the analytics team

Qualifications

Your profile

A customer obsessed professional will be able to build customer backwards solutions and innovate on their behalf. You take ownership of your projects while maintaining stakeholder trust. You are an analytical and data driven operator with proven root cause analysis and fix ability. You can also navigate around resource limitations.

With:

  • A passion for building an experience-led transportation program that goes beyond meeting SLAs and minimizing cost
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, operations, supply chain or a related area. MBA or master’s degree is an asset
  • 4-6 years of direct, progressive 3PL carrier management experience, preferably in e-commerce
  • Experience in end-to-end 3PL carrier selection – from RFP to steady state operation
  • Good understanding of Canadian customs documentation and processes; exposure to UK and Europe international shipments a bonus

 

Up to 10% international travel required.
