Purpose

Assemble, package, kitting, and functional test products. Ability to solder and de-solder through-hole and surface mount (SMT) components on printed circuit boards (PCB). Program managed cards using gang programmer.  

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Able to solder and de-solder through-hole and SMT components on PCB.
  • Perform assembly of products.
  • Label and package products and deliver to finish goods.
  • Record inspection data on the manufacturing traveller.
  • Responsible for kitting and picking of work orders.
  • Notify the production lead of any unusual problems.
  • Perform function tests and gang programming as needed.
  • Place quality of products produced above other performance objectives.
  • Responsible for knowing ISO 9001 & 14001 specifications and procedures/processes for products and job functions.
  • Provide backup support in shipping.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Nature & Scope:

  • Typically reports to Production Supervisor.
  • No direct responsibility for supervising others.

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Operating knowledge of personal computers.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities at once.
  • Strong ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Fluent oral and written English communication skills to read work instructions and record details on manufacturing traveller or shipping communications.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Education Required: High school diploma or GED
  • Years of Relevant Work Experience: 1
  • 1-year Soldering Experience or certified.  Pass test for soldering skills to the appropriate level.
  • Mastery of Assembly & Test Tech I
  • Physical Job Requirements: Work is often repetitive.  Must have the ability to either sit or stand and lean over workbench 8+ hours per day.       
  • The constant need to lift light articles; occasional need to lift 40+ pounds.  Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone.       
  •  Ability to type on a computer keyboard, use a computer mouse, and an electronic scanner.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified in IPC J-STD-001
  • Knowledge of IPC 610 standard
  • Previous electronics testing Experience
  • Electronics background
  • Knowledge and use of lean principles.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and 14000.
