Company Description
Lan Pya Kyel Association (“LPK”) is a non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian organization. It is local organization in Myanmar and an affiliate of PSI/Myanmar. Organization is currently providing full comprehensive package of HIV prevention and treatment to vulnerable populations particularly, sex workers and men who have sex with men and Transgender Women. Organization has been implementing HIV and related programs throughout the country for the past 15 years with the name of “TOP”. Lan Pya Kyel is now inviting applications to fill the following position:
Job Description
- Conduct HTS according to LPK guidelines and protocols - including HIV group counselling, Mobile HTS whenever applicable.
- Conduct counselling sessions with LPK methods and tools – including ART adherence counselling, psychological support, use of IEC materials, Pamphlets, visual aids (flipcharts) whenever appropriate.
- Support client index case- encourage to client partner testing.
- Collect accurate data for patients file and for MIS reports, as per LPK M&E guidelines.
- Provide counselling services across PrEP care starting from HIV substantial risk assessment, acute HIV infection assessment, and ensure the willingness of the clients to take PrEP.
- Conduct PrEP counselling according to LPK guidelines and protocols whenever applicable.
- Conduct to accomplish of PrEP cascade (Follow the Client by Phone or inform to community outreach organizer to follow the client).
- Assisting the clients in educating HIVST testing process by using visualized tools (eg: video clips).
- Conduct HTS (pre-test & post-test) in aligned with LPK’s guidance including (HIV group counselling, mobile HTS, whenever applicable).
- Facilitate in Linkage to care that depends on the result:
- if the result is Reactive; linking for confirmatory test and then linking to Peer Navigator for treatment (ART) initiation and Index testing
- if the result shows Non-Reactive) ; linking to PrEP team for HIV prevention
- Ensure entry of correct data from (hard copies or web-based app or back-end, etc.,).
- Delivering the training on HIVST testing & counselling process.
- Participate in HIVST community related demand creation and distribution with the support of (social workers, Index clients and volunteered PLHAs).
- Delivering message of HIVST in relevant to key populations with benefits of HIVST.
- Ensure the availability of HIVST test kits at all time through tracking the in-stock balance and consumption.
- Be innovative in identifying the gaps in program implementation.
- Working closely in consulting with technical team to identify gaps in HIVST program.
- Delivering tele-counselling in HIVST testing & counselling procedure.
- Collaborate with community gate keepers and relevant community-based organizations (CBOs) for community service delivery.
- Provide mental health (MHPSS) counselling to people living with HIV (PLHIV) in need of mental health services.
- Conduct specific mental health counselling, Problem Management Plus (PM+), to support client who gets stress/anxiety due to daily psychosocial problems.
Qualifications
- Conduct case management plan with Medical Team (Senior Operation Officer, MO, Peer Navigator)
- Can Apply and adult easily new methods of counselling.
- Keep up to date a referral network directory and refer the clients as appropriate (e.g ART, TB, other psychosocial issues, etc.).
- Comply with NAP centralize system and accomplish of Referral system.
- Conduct to accomplish of cascade care model (Follow the Client by Phone or inform to case workers to follow the client).
- Comply with the counsellor’s code of ethics, ensure confidentiality and quality of counselling services.
- Participate to counselling training and refreshers.
- Work in close collaboration with the medical team (MO, Lab) and Peer Navigator.
- Attend regular clinical meetings and counselling supervision meetings.
- Report regularly (frequency to be defined) to the Senior Operation Officer and Counselling Coordinator over the phone and one-to-one meeting during technical onsite visit whenever necessary.
- Must have direct experience of community work and good understanding of HIV/STI prevention and RH issues for the FSW and MSM community.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, interest in aid relationships.
- Must be trained in counselling (Lan Pya Kyel/ TOP training as well as NAP trainings), as well as specialized trainings when relevant.
- Ensure that SOPs are met in daily HIVST service delivery.
- Ensure quality assurance of data entry (hard copies/ web-based app) in collaboration with M&E team.
- Ensure confidentiality is in practice.
