Job Description

The SEO Manager will be responsible for organizing and managing resources and executing upon organic search and conversion rate optimization plans to ensure positive organic campaign performance. They have a relentless drive, along with the passion and talent to generate creative solutions and provide the results that our clients expect.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the successful planning, execution and monitoring of client SEO campaigns
  • Develop internal systems and workflows accommodating cross-disciplinary collaboration for efficient execution of client deliverables
  • Create innovative solutions to further increase the efficiency and value proposition of the SEO department 
  • Review and analyze client sites for areas of improvement
  • Work with Data & Analytics team to prepare detailed and thoughtful SEO reports and recommendations
  • Grow the SEO department by hiring, training and mentoring junior team members
  • Work with our QA team to set standards for quality SEO for our clients
  • Collaborate with content, UX and development teams to oversee execution of acquisition plans
  • Participate in business development efforts through research, proposals and presentations
  • Work with Creative and Content teams to develop link-building strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels
  • Ensure timely completion of client deliverables including, but not limited to:
    • SEO audits
    • On-page optimization
    • Schema markup
    • Authority analysis and recommendations
    • Competitive analysis
    • Keyword research, proposals, and recommendations
    • Keyword matrices
    • Structural optimizations
    • Client implementations, when required
    • Creative link-building plans, including link reclamation activities, directory listings, and local search optimization
    • Information architecture
    • Mobile-first best practices


  • 5+ years of working experience with search engine optimization, preferably in an agency setting
  • Passion for learning the latest technologies and techniques, and sharing that knowledge with team and clients
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-starter environment, juggling multiple tasks at once
  • Proven track record of increasing site authority through trusted and natural link building, and surpassing client conversion goals
  • Must be able to draw critical analysis from data and make specific recommendations, showing the ability to adapt to changing strategies and recommendations based on data sets
  • Ability to solve complex problems through creative solutions and strategic decision-making
  • Knowledge of HTML required - javascript, PHP, .NET, JSP, regex a huge plus
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, multivariate testing and landing page optimization techniques
  • BA or BS related undergraduate degree, or combined equivalent of relevant industry work experience
  • Experience working with SEO tools such as SEMRush, STAT, BrightEdge, MOZ, BrightLocal, Screaming Frog, etc.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel / Google Spreadsheets skills
  • Have a thorough understanding of Google Analytics, certification is a plus
  • Ability to communicate with team and clients in person and by phone
  • Experience working with popular CMS such as WordPress, ezPublish, Drupal, Sitecore and Sitefinity platforms is a plus
  • Additional digital marketing experience a plus (SEM, Conversion Rate Optimization, content marketing, social, email, display)
