Job Description

 

  • Structural Engineer who will plan and design building structures following the architectural designs and supervising the structural construction and government standards, using standards, using design software and drawing tools.
  • To supervise the project site with daily reports to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards while directing responsibilities for operations and structural building maintenance.
  • Participate in the development of a work program for housing projects to enhance its viability analysis, estimating quantities and cost of materials, equipment or labor to determine project feasibility.
  • Undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations. Loading with clients and a variety of professionals including architects and subcontractors.
  • Resolving design and development problems ensuring the project complies with legal requirements, especially health and safety.
  • Analyzing survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints and aerial photographs and other topographical or geologic data to plan building projects.
  • Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies, while preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials. 
  • Establishing construction, manufacturing or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations. 

Qualifications

  • Strong portfolio equally showcasing past projects worked on with timelines.
  • Bachelor's, HND or equivalent in Structural engineering field from a COREN Certified University or Polytechnic.
  • At least 2-4 years working years of experience at a Real estate, construction company, engineering firm or a development firm.
  • Vibrant, Fast and Productive with result oriented mindset.
  • Quick and fast solution thinker; ability to craft solutions to mechanical problems easily.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, design and construction simultaneously.
  • Expert mastery of Computer-aided design tool (CAD).
  • Member of PMI (Project Management Institute) an added advantage.
  • Technical writing and reporting skills. With the ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Excellent follow through, ability to pay attention to details and organisational skills. 
  • High level of professionalism and multitasking. 
  • Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Professional qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Highly creative with ability to think out of box.
