INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY - Sales Support Operations Coordinator (Hybrid)

  • Full-time

Company Description

At Lakeshore, we create innovative learning materials and world-class guest experiences for teachers, parents and children. Since 1954, we’ve grown into a global community—with a thriving e-commerce business, multiple catalogs, over 50 stores, a peerless national sales force, plus international offices that support our preeminent supply chain division. But today we’re working better, smarter and faster than ever—and setting our sights even higher. We’re building an infrastructure designed for scalability, embracing data-driven decision-making and using technology to improve efficiency and ensure the best tools for the best work. Most importantly, we continue to invest in a diverse team of inquisitive top talent who fuel each other’s passions and curiosity, take risks, try new things and believe that every new day brings opportunities for growth.

Job Description

Every order that reaches our customers has to be right — right carrier, right inventory, right delivery date, right notes. As a Sales Support Operations Coordinator, you're the final check that makes that happen. You'll work closely with our sales support, transportation, and distribution teams to make sure orders are accurate, complete, and ready to ship so that the schools and families we serve get what they need, when they need it.

Please note that this position is open to internal candidates only. External candidates who apply will not be considered for this role.

A day on the job looks like this:

  • Review and release orders to our distribution centers, confirming that carrier routes, delivery dates, notes, and bill-of-lading comments are complete and accurate before each order drops.
  • Coordinate order grouping by evaluating inventory availability, stock allocations, delivery timelines, and carrier assignments to meet customer and sales team expectations.
  • Monitor backorder queues for custom orders, tracking reconciliation timelines and flagging issues so orders stay on schedule.
  • Support inventory management by helping reallocate stock, reassign distribution center assignments, and keep a close eye on supply levels across orders.
  • Partner with internal teams — including sales support, order management, transportation, and our distribution centers — to keep communication clear and orders moving.

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:

Required:

  • 1–2 years of experience in order management, operations coordination, sales support, or a related role.
  • Comfortable working in Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level — you use these tools daily without much ramp-up.
  • Clear, organized communicator — able to keep teammates informed and flag issues quickly in writing and in conversation.
  • Able to manage several active tasks at once without losing accuracy, especially under time pressure.
  • Hybrid schedule with regular onsite presence at our Carson, CA office.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in Salesforce or SAP, or a similar order management or CRM system.
  • Background in logistics, supply chain, or distribution center coordination.

What sets you apart:

  • You treat a deadline as a commitment, not a suggestion and stay on top of moving pieces so nothing slips through.
  • You ask questions early rather than guessing, and you loop people in before small issues become big ones.
  • You take mistakes as signals, not setbacks and figure out what went wrong and adjust without drama.
  • You pitch in wherever the work needs you, even when it's outside your usual lane.
