Job Description

We’re searching for a talented proofreader/editor to lend a hand with the production of our catalogs, marketing collateral, website, printed products, product guides, educational materials and more. Successful candidates will be perfectionists with superb attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment. This temporary position is currently remote but may eventually require that some work be done onsite at our Carson, California, headquarters.

A day on the job looks like this:
•    Proofreading and editing marketing text and art in Workfront CMS
•    Proofing social media posts
•    Translating and proofreading products, guides and other materials from English to Spanish
•    Assisting in proofreading print and online catalogs for various audiences
•    Checking visual representations of client classrooms in Workfront and Adobe Acrobat Reader
•    Collaborating with Marketing, Administration, Research and Development and other departments on educational collateral
•    Conferring with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team on diversity-related questions

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:
•    BA in English, Journalism, Marketing or equivalent experience
•    3+ years of relevant experience 
•    Passing grade on the Lakeshore proofreading/editing test
•    Ability to proofread in both English and Spanish strongly preferred 
•    Flawless grammar and spelling skills 
•    Incredibly keen eye for details 
•    Ability to work at an efficient pace without sacrificing quality
•    Available for approximately 20 to 35 hours per week
