Job Description

We are currently searching for an experienced Data Analyst to support our Analytics Team and provide data management, reporting and analysis. Reporting to the Analytics Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for helping Lakeshore meet its objectives in order to drive the growth and profitability of our business. The selected candidate will also work closely with various management teams to provide insights and analysis that supports both B2B and B2C areas of the business as well as our 60 Lakeshore Learning Stores nationwide. Successful candidates will have previous experience with extracting, interpreting, analyzing, and presenting data, advanced Microsoft Excel skills and a high focus on accuracy and data integrity. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with outstanding problem-solving and communication skills, and an ability to take initiative and multitask in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment – and will possess the skills to quickly adapt to evolving priorities. This position is based at our Corporate Office located in Carson, CA.

A day in the office looks like this:
• Provide detailed and accurate reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) to all related stakeholders
• Create, complete and manage ad hoc reporting requests in a timely manner while working to streamline current processes
• Review data sets and reports for accuracy, validity and data integrity
• Extract, manipulate, analyze and present sales data for the Retail, E-Commerce, Sales and other divisions as needed
• Identify sales opportunities through data analysis
• Communicate effectively across all levels of management throughout the retail field and various departments within the company
• Display a positive attitude and can-do outlook in all circumstances
• Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects and deadlines
• Work flexible hours as needed
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:
• 1-3 years of experience in data, analytics and reporting preferred
• Strong business acumen and experience making decisions or providing recommendations
• BA/BS in computer science, math, economics, business or related field a plus
• Experience with web analytics and business intelligence tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Adobe Target, Qlikview) preferred
• Technical capacity and the ability to learn new systems
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Superb analytical, problem-solving and multitasking skills; highly receptive to feedback with a teamwork mentality
• Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented mindset with exceptional follow-through
• Effective time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to new situations and shifting priorities with an open-minded attitude
• Ability to suggest ways to improve processes while keeping focus on long-term goals
• Ability to think critically and make important decisions independently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to absorb information quickly while working in a collaborative environment
