Job Description

The Director of Auxiliary Programs reports to the Head of School and is responsible for the success of our Extended Care, Enrichment and Summer Camp Programs across our PreK, Elementary and Middle School Campuses. 

The Director will conceive, budget, implement and co-market a high quality program that enriches the students intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. They will promote teamwork and effective communication, and will embody the IB Learner Profile and the values and mission of La Scuola. This position will begin immediately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage all auxiliary programs for the La Scuola community including but not limited to Extended Care, Enrichments and Summer Camp.
  • Hire, train and manage all Auxiliary staff 
  • Plan all program timing in advance to ensure proper marketing and recruitment for programs
  • Be responsible for knowing, understanding, training and executing all school and camp policies and emergency procedures.
  • Manage inventory of all supplies and meal planning logistics as necessary
  • Negotiate and contract with third-party service providers of educational/ recreational programs as appropriate
  • Communicate with extended care staff, parents and teachers on discipline issues occurring in the extended care program.
  • Be a role model for the AP/EC staff and maintain a professional, collaborative and positive atmosphere in the school.
  • Report any concerns and questions regarding the program (students, parents, equipment needs, supplies, other staff, volunteers, etc.) to the Lower School Director, Director of Administration or Head of School.
  • Maintain a safe and educational learning environment for children by ensuring all staff implements the auxiliary programs’ curriculum and activities.
  • Regularly attend, on a rotating basis, childcare and enrichment programs for the purposes of observation, evaluation and guidance.
  • Conduct parent surveys and outreach as appropriate
  • Manage sign up and form collection process for all participants

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Prior experience and demonstrated success in a similar role
  • Bilingual and bi-literate in Italian and English preferred

Licenses and Other requirements

  • Valid first aid and CPR certificate issued by the Red Cross within six months of employment
  • Valid Driver’s License, Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance, Physical and TB Clearance.
  • Mandated child abuse reporting online training within two weeks of employment
  • Sexual Harassment online training course completion

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
 
Prior to beginning work and as a condition of employment in order to comply with the law, all employees must provide documentation to prove eligibility to work in the United States.
 
In addition, the final candidate will need to pass both Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance and a physical exam, and provide a recent copy of a negative TB test and other immunization records.
 
Salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
