Job Description

You and the Content & Navigation Team:

You’ll be part of the team responsible for the global user journey on TheFork’s products.

Basically, if other product teams are focused on Search or Booking Experiences, the Content and Navigation team works on:

  • Restaurant page
  • National and city homepages
  • User journey coherence
  • Marketing communications
  • Content quality

So your scope will not only be on the user’s navigation for our B2C products: you’ll work on CMS and administration tools we build for international marketing teams so that they can manage their content and events. You may also work on B2B product when it comes to restaurant content optimisation.

We are looking for an ambitious and creative Front End developer to work on improving our product and bring new ideas. You’ll have to show us that you are able to kick around ideas with our design team, be part of the conception, offer some innovative solutions and technology to answer to problematics such as performance & loading time.

Our culture is constantly evolving, and you will have the opportunity to actively contribute new ideas to complement and enhance the existing programs (mentoring, technical talks, conferences, etc.).

Your mission:

  • Cross-browser web & mobile application development.
  • Frontend conception with your Lead Developer
  • Contribute to the frontend guild accross the technical team

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Strong programming experience (5+ years), with a good knowledge of web development.
  • High mastery of web technologies such as modern Javascript (ES6), CSS (BEM), HTML, webpack/grunt.
  • At least 2 frontend frameworks known at high level
  • Strong commitment to quality design, automated testing, performance and documentation. Knowledge of best practices in testing and versioning.
  • Comfortable with Agile environments (SCRUM).
  • Sense of ownership and ability to drive issues and new ideas.
  • Analytical problem solving skills.
  • You are a good team player, who knows how to communicate well with non-tech people.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Content and navigation’s Stack:

  • ECMAScript 6, Angular 1.3, ReactJs, webpack, eslint, jest, mocha, chai, sinon
  • Less - Grunt - Phing
  • PHP 5.5, Symfony2
  • Google Maps APIs
  • MySQL
  • RabbitMQ
  • ELK - New Relic
  • Behat - PHPUnit

Development environment: Vagrant - Chef - PhpStorm - Git (GitHub). OSX/Ubuntu.


Bonus points:

  • Experience with backend development (PHP, NodeJs) and/or knowledge of RDBS
  • UX/UI design sensitivity
  • SEO sensitivity
  • Work on personal projects, curious about new technologies.
  • Experience with developing and extending large and complex systems.
  • Proven track record on shipping products/services with high quality standards.
  • High tolerance to offbeat humour and love of endless debates (ex: “private” vs. “protected”?)
