Job Description

The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for oversight and maintaining all safety programs, regulatory programs, and safety policies. Develop and administer occupational safety and environmental management programs designed to reduce workplace risk, minimize business disruption, and assure compliance to applicable regulatory requirements.

Develop and manage initiatives to promote a productive safety culture, including programs designed to increase employee involvement, education, and recognition. Implement targeted countermeasure programs designed to address performance trends and foster continual improvement.
All aspects of safety fall in the control and responsibility of the Safety Manager including regulatory programs OSHA, weekly and monthly reporting, Workers Compensation, company safety policies, Medical First Responder, Hazard Identification, Injury Case Management and trending, Management of Change, and Regulatory Safety Training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deploy the Health & Safety Distribution Center strategy, policy, and standards, to achieve excellent and sustainable results.
  • Evaluate health and safety practices and procedures for risk assessment and follow legal guidelines.
  • Create and implement workplace health and safety plans and procedures.
  • Monitor legal compliance, and ensure sites meet all local/national regulatory requirements, provide advice on national Health and Safety legislation requirements & implement relevant procedures and policies. 
  • Develop and conduct safety training across two DC’s during transition phase to the new warehouse.
  • Management tasks such as project and warehouse security, through effective leadership and coordination, ensure the smooth implementation of EHS work within the warehouse.
  • Partner with the DC leadership and management team to develop a culture and supporting practices of zero accidents.
  • Lead and train accident investigations to determine root cause and take prevention measures for further incidents.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures and ensures compliance with federal regulations.
  • Analyze safety data and trends and develop plans based on the analysis.
  • Develop and manage initiatives to promote a productive safety culture, including programs designed to increase employee involvement, education, and recognition.
  • Collect and interpret injury data to identify trends and/or root causes, such as system failure, human error, or policy/procedure gaps.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 year’s of experience in Industrial Safety, Health & Environment
  • Minimum 5 year’s of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Minimum 5 year’s of experience creating and implementing OSHA safety programs and procedures in a Warehouse/Distribution Center or Manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5 year’s of experience in Health and Safety roles
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations, and any other State or Federal program requirements
  • High Level of Influence and agility
  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety is preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge of safety regulations and policies

While the published salary range is a good faith reflection of the targeted salary level for the position, LVMH Inc. reserves the right to pay outside of the published salary range of $110-140k.
