Job Description

We're looking for an IT Operations Specialist to perform a combination of specialized, complex operational and task-oriented duties related to the management of materials and services, identifying, and enforcing controls regarding the acquisition requirements working closely with procurement representatives. Assist with the management of equipment in multiple locations. This position is in the Information Technology Operations (ITO) Division supporting the Livermore Information Technology (LivIT) Program within the Computing Directorate.

This position may offer a hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week, after a probationary period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization. 

You will

  • Collaborate with technical personnel to develop and implement standards and specifications. Communicate with a variety of commercial manufacturing companies, suppliers, and technical Laboratory personnel in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Utilize ServiceNow workflows, dashboards, and record management for daily responsibilities managing multiple scopes with frequently changing priorities and short timeframes.
  •  Assist with the Management for LivIT Wireless, Field support, Telecommuting kits, and Onboarding property centers.
  • Coordinate shipping logistics involving optimizing various elements of materials and shipping requirements. This includes streamlining schedules, enhancing communication among stakeholders, synchronizing with inventory management.
  • Utilize ServiceNow, receive various types of inventories detailing IT related information from products to ensure proper tracking and assigning to customers, including receiving and inventory action reporting as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship. 
  • Experience coordinating work activities, workflow and processes for a service operations/customer service area.
  • Proven administrative and organizational skills including coordinating multiple activities, projects, and independently determining and setting priorities and goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and effective decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of IT equipment i.e. iPhones, iPads, computers (Windows/MAC) to help resolve problems between vendor and customer requests. 
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Experience working under minimal supervision, in a multitask environment with rapidly changing deadlines, instructions, priorities, and frequent interruptions.
  • Experience providing customer service and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills interacting with both customers and vendors of all levels.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the Ability to communicate effectively, understand diverse needs, and build positive and lasting professional relationships.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Ability to acquire and maintain Technical Release Representative (TRR) certification.
  • Experience with ServiceNow and Property Management tools.

Pay Range

$82,140 - $100,608 Yearly at the A07.1 level

This is the lowest to highest salary in good faith we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
