Job Description

How will your contributions be showcased?

Relational database management system

  • Maintain the relational database management system to ensure compliance with service contracts;
  • Provide day-to-day Level 3 support to all Customer Experience Advisors, Professional Services Specialists, and Developers in the use of the relational database management system;
  • Administer LGI customers' databases using best practices (choice of optimum parameters, backup strategies, etc.);
  • Expertise in SQL Server (Always-On) database recovery solutions;
  • Control database access authorizations.

Optimization and improvement of work tools

  • Optimize external customer databases to maximize performance and resolve irritants;
  • Test internal database solutions and recommend improvements or changes to current methods when required;
  • Develop and write training, procedures, and documentation so that consultants and specialists can intervene at the first level whenever possible. This coaching and training responsibility also applies to external customers.

Problem analysis

  • Identify problems, draw up an action plan, and recover databases in the event of a disaster (data corruption, deletion, or similar);
  • Analyze and minimize the risk of service failures at external customers by proposing tools and processes for redundant environments.

Other related responsibilities

  • Advise as required during calls for tender and provide relational database management system information for tender documents;
  • Attend training courses and workshops to ensure quality service to internal and external customers;
  • Collaborate actively with the SQL Server architect (modeling, guidance, etc.).

Qualifications

What you will bring to LGI Healthcare Solutions to succeed in the role:

  • University degree in computer science;
  • 10 years of experience working with a database management system;
  • Take relevant training courses as part of your job to keep up to date with the latest technologies;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server;
  • Good knowledge of the Windows operating system;
  • Knowledge of Oracle databases, an asset; 
  • Team spirit, thoroughness, and professional integrity;
  • Analytical skills; 
  • Stress and priority management;
  • Autonomy;
  • This position must be bilingual as the candidate will be responsible for working with documentation in both French and English and communicating, orally and in writing, with both French-speaking and English-speaking partners/clients/suppliers/colleagues.
