Job Description
Join LGC as a Field Applications Scientist and become part of our dynamic and innovative team in Denmark. This outstanding opportunity allows you to blend your expertise in molecular biology with your passion for solving complex scientific challenges. You will support an international customer base, ensuring their applications run flawlessly while also contributing to various internal departments such as Laboratory Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing.
In the role of Field Applications Scientist at LGC, you will be a key contributor to scientific progress, providing specialized expertise and leadership to our team. You will help mentor junior personnel, uphold rigorous standards, and promote continuous development. We require a scientific professional with strong skills in PCR or equivalent experience and oligo synthesis, capable of ensuring projects finish promptly and effectively to avoid impacting customer production.
In this role, you will work independently, leading projects that support improvements in composing features, software application and control testing, and applications development. You will collaborate with Engineering, Software, Science, and Production teams to successfully implement solutions and drive advancements in our offerings.

This position offers a fusion of knowledge in genomics, PCR-based genetic analysis, laboratory automation, oligo synthesis, DNA extraction, and customer care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert support to international customers, addressing their applications needs and resolving equipment and software issues
- Lead and mentor junior staff, encouraging professional development and high performance
- Ensure timely and successful completion of work according to the planned schedule
- Independently lead projects to support building improvements, software application and control testing, and applications development
- Work together with Engineering, Software, Science, and Production groups on special projects
- Maintain a positive attitude and promote continuous improvement within the team
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related area, or equivalent experience
- Over 7 years of experience in genetics and/or molecular biology
- Proven expertise in oligo synthesis, PCR, Real-Time PCR, nucleic acid purification, data analysis, and experimental development
- Outstanding skills in customer interaction and communication
- Ability to work independently and lead projects with minimal oversight
- Strong abilities in strategic and creative thinking
- Passion for problem-solving and delivering world-class solutions to customers
Experience and/or training:
- Broad experience in the area of genetics and/or molecular biology
- Working knowledge of oligo synthesis, PCR, Real-Time PCR, nucleic acid purification, data analysis, and experimental development
- Proven track record of successfully implementing solutions in a customer-focused environment
