Axolabs is one of the key business units within the LGC Group, specialising in life changing Therapeutics.  LGC is making a material investment in building a dedicated manufacturing facility in Berlin and this role will directly support that facility.

Job Description

As the Site IT lead at the Axolabs Berlin site, you will be expected to deliver solutions, manage resources, assist the Axolabs Head of IT with budgeting, demand forecasting and capacity planning and assist teams with technical tasks including project delivery and day to day operations.  You will be responsible for systems that will encompass lab applications, quality and compliance applications and general network and application support. 

You will be working closely with several teams including the Laboratory systems team, the IT Quality team, the IFS team as well as with associated vendors, internal IT and external IT contractors, Business Operations and Business Quality teams to help deliver the required services.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Onsite point of contact for escalations, management and resolution of technical issues including end user support and application management.  Hands on technical support of applications and end user issues including GxP application troubleshooting.
  • Management of internal team and task prioritisation
  • Maintenance and update of IT support SOP documentation
  • Maintenance and testing of Disaster Recovery process and procedure
  • Liaise with 3rd Party IT contract support.
  • Ensure that all changes to networks, personal computers and applications are fully documented in compliance with the relevant operating procedures.
  • Ensure that all computer equipment and software purchased follows agreed site Information Technology standards.
  • Support IT Project and Programme Managers to develop and manage detailed project schedules and work plans.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, data privacy, and security standards within the domain.
  • Foster effective communication, collaboration, and relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, cross-functional teams, and external partners. Contribute in all areas of system implementation including but not limited to vendor interaction, system compatibility, change control, qualification, deployment, and training.
  • Ensure IT budgets are developed annually in conjunction with Axolabs Head of IT and manage costs in accordance with that budget
  • Provide input to strategic planning with Axolabs Head of IT and assist in building multi-year plans based on IT strategy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience in application management and configuration.
  • Experience of enterprise systems integration.
  • Experience of managing systems and services in Life Science organisations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks supporting a GMP and GXP implementation.
  • Excellent overall IT skills across Windows PC and server operating systems and experience of using various software packages.
  • Strong technical acumen and experience in large infrastructure support environments.
  • Essential to be able to rapidly develop a good understanding of a large range of disparate scientific disciplines and procedures.
  • Fluent English and German language skills 

Advantageous

  • Knowledge of supporting specific Laboratory systems, especially relating to LIMS, QMS and/or eBR.
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment.
  • Any relevant Quality related qualifications.
