Axolabs specialises in a new class of drugs whose active ingredients are chemically derived from DNA or RNA, known as oligonucleotide or nucleic acid therapeutics. We use our many years of expertise to help our customers make these therapeutics a success. Some of these drugs have already been authorised and are being used successfully to treat diseases that were previously untreatable in some cases. New drugs from this class of medicines are added every year.

LGC Axolabs has sites in USA (Petaluma) and Germany (Kulmbach and Berlin).
Through 2024 we are progressing the construction of our flagship facility in Berlin, which will be dedicated to medium to large scale and early to late Phase Clinical GMP manufacturing of Nucleic Acid Therapeutics

Stellenbeschreibung

Axolabs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of IT to function as the Business Unit CIO. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the company's IT strategy, operations, and initiatives to drive business growth, deliver solutions and optimise performance.

The role will be critical in overseeing the delivery of the IT solutions needed  to commission the new facility being constructed in Berlin. Ongoing, the position will drive the technology vision and strategy for Axolabs business unit, delivering services and agreed solutions that underpin the business objectives. The role is Based in Berlin with regular travel to Kulmbach. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with Axolabs' business objectives and goals.
  • Manage and oversee all IT operations, including infrastructure, systems, applications, and services.
  • Ensure alignment between relevant central IT standards and Axolabs solutions and services.
  • Act as the conduit between central Enterprise IT and Axolabs, providing input to central IT solutions, services and strategies.
  • Lead the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance business processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Ensure the security, reliability, and availability of all IT systems and data, implementing robust cybersecurity measures and disaster recovery plans.
  • Manage IT budgets, vendors, and contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business units, partners, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, IT policies, technical standards and cyber security protocols.

Qualifikationen

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills

  • Extensive experience working in a Technology leadership role within the Life Sciences industry.
  • Individual must have a demonstrable background that covers Infrastructure, cyber and compliance areas of IT.
  • Experience with key business systems such as ERP and LIMS, particularly covering apps operating in a regulated environment would be highly beneficial
  • An ability to develop a self-sufficient, technology focused IT function, aligned to the overall business strategy and growth agenda.
  • Experience managing 3rd party partners and offshore providers in relation to both BAU services and delivery.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading business area strategic planning, translating this into a multi-year, portfolio of deliver.
  • Experience of working and leading teams in a global or matrix organisation
  • Demonstrable track record of motivation and achievement, managing to budget, time and quality targets.
