Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Scale House Attendant to join our team in Clarion, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for operating weighing equipment, recording accurate measurements, and processing documentation for all incoming and outgoing shipments. The Scale House Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our operations while maintaining a professional and safe work environment.

  • Operate and monitor scale equipment to accurately measure and record the weight of materials and products
  • Process and maintain detailed records of all weighing transactions, including tickets, documentation, and data entry
  • Assist customers and drivers with weighing procedures and answer questions regarding the process
  • Verify the accuracy of all measurements and ensure compliance with weight standards and regulations
  • Maintain the scale house facility in a clean, organized, and safe condition
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on weighing equipment and report any malfunctions or calibration issues to supervisors
  • Process payment transactions and manage cash or digital payment systems as required
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while performing duties
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding operational issues or discrepancies
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment problems and escalate complex issues to maintenance personnel

Qualifications

  • Proven attention to detail with the ability to accurately record and verify measurements
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and calculations
  • Experience operating weighing equipment or similar industrial machinery
  • Competency in record-keeping and documentation procedures
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical capability to perform duties, including standing for extended periods and lifting materials
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with data entry systems (preferred)
  • Knowledge of weight measurement standards and industry regulations (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a scale house, warehouse, or logistics environment (preferred)
  • Forklift certification or similar equipment operation experience (preferred)
