Job Description
At KordaMentha, we see graphic design as visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires. We are looking for an experienced and talented senior graphic designer who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations in both print and digital. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to delivery. Working collaboratively with marketing and select teams across the firm, the successful candidate will be able to transform written and spoken ideas, and convert them into creative, compelling and engaging concepts.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Client Engagement, the successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing, enjoy a fast-paced environment and work with a team who like to experiment and have an innovative approach to all that they do.
The successful candidate will enjoy a collaborative and professional office environment, and will be required to be on-site for the majority of the work week with opportunities for remote working as required.
Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to visualise and develop innovative designs that meet project and/or business goals including EDMs, social tiles, interactive advertisements, infographics and motion graphics and special effects for web and video.
Obtain input in a timely manner from stakeholders to ensure designs meet firm standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent KordaMentha appropriately
Work independently as well as collaboratively with marketing on various campaigns and projects, meeting deadlines, and scheduling project implementation based on workload, which may include simultaneous projects
Plan, coordinate and produce professional photography and video shoots, including direction and supporting talent
Examine existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and create solutions that enhance design capabilities
Update and maintain internal databases for designs, photography, and video
Adapt or rework graphics, illustrations and photography from an existing library or stock images.
Ensure all graphic work is optimised for best quality within a digital online environment and on-brand
Manage other designers across the team and provide support and guidance on select projects where required
Conceptualise designs based on briefs and determine requirements
Qualifications
Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
Fluency with design software such as Adobe Creative suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat DC, XD) and Figma (or similar)
Excellent skills in animation, with experience using software like After Effects or Blender.
Extensive knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, and experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms.
Experience in photography and videography, along with proficiency in photo and video editing software.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Five or more years of experience with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Organisational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Desire to continue building skill set with education and training to ensure skills are up to date with new trends and software
Preferred:
- Experience in creating interactive and engaging digital content
- Knowledge of current design trends and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or related discipline
- Video editing and image retouching experience highly regarded
- Experience of working with / for a professional services organisation
