HR/Payroll Generalist ( JB954)

Requirements: 
Grade 12
Relevant degree/diploma
3 years’ experience as an HR Admin
5 years’ experience in Payroll management
Attention to detail is highly important for this role.
Ability to multi-task and work with inputs from various sources.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Sound computer skills (MS Office Excel).
Excellent Exec skills
Experience with Payroll system processing over 200 staff (Sage Professional)
 
Responsibilities:
Employee Data Administration:
Creating and maintain employee records with a check list of what is contained in filing and for effective staff management.
Make sure employee contracts are provided for new hires and are up to date in records.
Payroll Management:
Process payroll and maintain payroll information accurately as required, ensuring all transactions are authorized, recorded, and documented. This includes checking of transactions uploaded by the Time and Attendance system.
Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll changes and terminations.
Identifies and recommends updates to payroll procedures and drive automation/standardization.
Resolving payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
Ensures payroll is administered in accordance with all collective agreements and contractual and statutory requirements so staff are paid appropriately, and appropriate deductions are being made.
Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages, especially Outlook, Excel and Word
Auditing and verifying information in the payroll system.
Ability to prioritize and deal with multiple deadlines.
Experience with a payroll of more than 200 employees
Manage third party invoicing and deductions – Medical aid and Provident funding.
Recruitment Process:
Review CV’s
Set up Interviews.
Conduct first interviews with managers.
Create and train managers on how to manage the recruitment process, use interview guides and make good employment decisions.
Onboarding / Offboarding
Assistance with BEE:
Ensure the BEE requirements are compliant as per process and documented checklist.
Employment Equity:
Create and manage the Employment Equity (EE) process through data collection, EE reporting submission, EE committee management, keep monthly documentation up to date.
Assistance with Skills Development:
Assisting with Skills Development through WSP, ATR and other training initiatives. Arrange and support supplier training. Ensure annual mandatory training is completed. Manage committee meetings and skills training records
Labour Relations:
Provide a process and support on how to handle poor work performance and give labour advice based on what is in the policy.
BCEA, LRA, OHS and related labour legislation knowledge and application is required.
HR System & Support:
Create a store HR folder with all required HR documents needed
Be the first point of contact for HR-related queries from the managers regarding the HR filing system or other employee challenges.
