Job Description

Day to day you will partner with the Director of Data Science to provide advice and tactical work, translating our customers requirements for clinical hypotheses and study measurement requirements, into technical specifications for devices, data and related data processing needs. This equally consultative and hands on delivery role, provides regulated compliant solutions that can be deployed in sponsored clinical trials using the Koneksa Compare platform and capabilities.

A successful incumbent will partner closely within and across internal departments (data science, client ops, business development, sales, operations and technology), plus external clients and partners, demonstrating agility to adjust own working style to effectively address diverse audiences, and a balance of communication and technical skills to connect with technical and non-technical subject matters experts effectively.

The Data Scientist at Koneksa, has a passion to provide solutions where others see problems, demonstrating high-level orientation to details and excellence in the execution, while applying previous and new varied knowledge in the creative ways that promote better and agile results for drug development and patient centric solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver data models and algorithm processing pipelines in code that are production ready for use

  • Write prototype and production code to produce, process and QC (quality control) large datasets (in house and cloud)

  • Produce clinical datasets for client data transfers and analysis, and present reports

  • Effectively and proactively communicate with external and internal teams to gather information and contribute to data transfer specification contracts

  • Tabulate, visualize and analyze data, and troubleshoot, resolve data quality issues, and own resolution of open items

  • Meticulously document project progress, data quality control, analysis findings

Qualifications

Requirements and Experience

  • Be hands on and practical in everything you do - the role requires multidisciplinary execution across science, technology and operations

  • BS in scientific discipline with 5+ years of work experience or MS with 2+ years of work experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Data Science and related operations

  • 3+ years of preferred experience in design and delivery of scientific solutions

  • 3+ years in Python (pandas, numpy, pymongo, etc.), including experience with Object Oriented Programming (OOP). Preferred experience in R, Matlab and using version control (Git, GitHub)

  • Preferred experience in extracting data from databases using programs such as MongoDB and Amazon S3

  • Statistical analysis techniques

  • Preferred experience with Linux and tools for working with remote servers (bash, ssh, sftp, etc).

  • Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects and manage competing deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
