Job Description
Port Solutions designs, manufactures, sells, delivers and services a wide variety of container handling cranes, shipyard cranes and lift trucks. We are providing the best technological solutions for global customers and we are well known all over the world for trail-blazing technology, delivery excellence and can-do spirit.
Business Unit Port Services, a critical part of Business Area Port Solutions, is a known and trusted service partner within port industry. Port Services offers a wide range of services both internally and externally. Technical Support team within Port Services provides global support to internal frontline units as well as directly to customers for complex retrofits and modernizations requiring technical expertise.
To further strengthen our technical support capacity, we are now seeking to hire an Electrical Engineer who will provide technical expertise and contribute to Port Service product development and delivery projects globally. In this role you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities:
- Development of technical solutions, electrical drawings and documentation related to service products.
- Supporting electrical and electronics service products based on customer needs.
- Offer engineering of global Port Services retrofit and modernization projects.
- Design of electrical drawings and documentation, based on international standards, using CAD and PLM systems approved by Konecranes.
- Troubleshooting and support of electrics related cases both remotely and at site.
- Customers and Front Line units support in projects and requests related to electrical engineering.
- Participation in site activities in matters of electrical engineering, based on project needs.
- Follow up new technology development.
- Training delivery for stakeholders.
Qualifications
What should you bring?
To succeed in this role, you need to have hands-on mentality and ambition to deal with technical issues that require both technical knowledge and problem solving skills. It's also important that you have good cooperation skills and genuine motivation to support your colleagues and to work with people from different teams.
We also expect you to have:
- A Bachelors’ degree or higher in electrical, electronics, robotics or automation engineering.
- Experience with electrical CAD systems (especially Zuken E3), PLM systems (like TeamCenter), SAP are valuable assets in this role.
- Ability and wiliness to learn new things and study new methods and technical solutions related to modern crane electrical engineering.
- Ability to stay focused, also in situations when the pressure is increasing.
- Knowledge of crane electrics and VFD systems is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel 20-40 days per year.
To succeed in this role, you will also need to have strong teamwork and communication skills. Fluency in both spoken and written English skills is a must, other language skills are beneficial.
