Electrical Supervisor
Location: Hochiminh city , Vietnam
About the Role
As the Electrical Supervisor, you will be involved in Konecranes crane startup and commissioning activities within the Ports Supply Vietnam organization, performing on-site works, tests, and inspections.
You will be part of BA Port Solutions, BU Quay Supply organisation, reporting to the Operation Manager. We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team in Vung Tau, Vietnam.
This is a key role in ensuring smooth electrical installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting of port cranes, while supervising subcontractors and collaborating closely with Konecranes engineering and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities
To enable this, you will focus on the following activities:
Supervise subcontractors executing electrical installations for cranes and related tasks.
Provide electrical troubleshooting support, supervise and advise on electrical issues, and act as a bridge between the local partner and the Konecranes team.
Manage software uploads and updates, ensuring the latest configurations are in place.
Test and commission crane functions and safety circuits, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Adjust sensors and limit switches to optimize crane performance.
Install spare parts when required.
Occasionally participate in the loading and unloading of cranes to and from vessels.
Ensure all work adheres to safety practices and legal requirements.
Report nonconformities related to crane operations or installation quality.
Maintain awareness of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
Education
Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
Nice-to-have
Training in Industrial Automation, PLC Programming, or Power Systems.
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
Strong electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis skills.
5+ years of industrial electrical experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
Nice-to-have
Experience with crane electrical systems (RTG, RMG, STS).
Knowledge of Siemens PLCs, ABB drives, and fieldbus communication systems.
Leadership & Professional Skills
Leadership and team supervision skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Commitment to safety and quality.
Nice-to-have
Project planning and coordination experience.
Experience leading multicultural teams.
Language Skills
Vietnamese: Native
English: Intermediate to Upper-Intermediate (B2), able to communicate with international teams and work with technical documentation.
Certifications
Valid electrical safety certification.
Electrical worker/supervisor license
Working at Height certification (preferred)
