Job Description
In a fast-paced environment like production, the supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process. This individual guarantees that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows. They must be competent and comprehend complex operations. The supervisor must lead by example and optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing the costs. Their goal is to ensure that production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner.
This role requires 80% direct floor supervision and 20% administrative duties. The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Strategize with Operations Manager to set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees
- Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules
- Implement and enforce operational policies and procedures
- Check production output according to specifications
- Submit reports on performance and progress
- Oversee and coach employees
- Identify, implement, and drive continuous improvement activities
- Foster an environment of employee communication and high morale
- Train employees on how to safely operate equipment and follow procedures
- Ensure health and safety guidelines and followed
Qualifications
Requirements
- Proven experience (3+ years) as Production Supervisor or similar role
- High School Diploma: Degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field will be an advantage
- Advanced skills in MS Office and/or Google Suite
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees and management equally
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Strong leadership abilities
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Attention to detail with ability to act & think analytically to meet job requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital and/or film imaging concepts and software
- Experience with document imaging toolkits and file types (TIFF, JPEG, PDF, etc.)
- Familiarity with Project Management principles
- Familiarity with ERP software and tracking methodologies
- Experience in leading multi-shift production environments
