Job Description

As a Document Preservation Specialist, you will perform various techniques related to the preservation of documents, following the standards set by the American Institute for Conservation Code of Ethics and Guidelines.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Dis-binds and identifies volumes, properly documenting the arrival order and condition
  • Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel abnormalities of the document
  • Applies deacidification solution to remove acid from documents
  • Encapsulates preserved documents into mylar pockets
  • Records daily production
  • Handle government vitals including birth certificates, death certificates and marriage certificates.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Works quickly to meet accurate productivity standards
