Job Description
The Associate Medical Strategist supports the development of evidence-based medical strategies across healthcare and pharmaceutical brands. Working closely with Medical Strategy, Account, and Creative teams, this role translates complex scientific information into actionable recommendations, compelling narratives, and differentiated brand strategies. The position contributes to client engagements, medical content development, competitive analyses, and business development initiatives while ensuring scientific rigor and strategic relevance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead medical strategy discussions and scientific storytelling for healthcare and pharmaceutical clients, translating clinical data into strategic recommendations and brand positioning.
- Develop and review medical content, scientific narratives, strategic deliverables, and pitch materials that support client objectives and business growth.
- Analyze therapeutic landscapes, clinical evidence, treatment guidelines, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and strategic insights.
- Present scientific and strategic recommendations to client stakeholders and cross-functional teams, supporting decision-making and brand planning.
- Collaborate with Strategy, Creative, and Account teams to ensure medical accuracy, scientific differentiation, and alignment with brand objectives.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of medical strategy experience within a healthcare communications agency, pharmaceutical company, life sciences consultancy, or related healthcare environment with demonstrated ownership of strategic deliverables.
- Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MSc, or equivalent) with experience interpreting and applying clinical and scientific data to business or brand challenges.
- Experience developing medical content, scientific narratives, strategic recommendations, or medical communications materials for healthcare audiences.
- Experience conducting competitive landscape assessments, literature reviews, or therapeutic area analyses and presenting findings to internal or client stakeholders.
- Experience presenting scientific or strategic recommendations to clients, senior stakeholders, or cross-functional teams with demonstrated influence on decision-making.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering high-quality work within established timelines.
Desired:
- Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done.
- Agency experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences brands across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Experience supporting new business pitches, RFP responses, or strategic business development initiatives.
- Experience mentoring junior team members, supervising project workstreams, or providing informal leadership within cross-functional teams.
- Experience collaborating with Creative, Strategy, and Client Services teams to develop integrated healthcare communications programs.
- Exposure to market access, value communications, health economics, or healthcare system strategy initiatives.
Additional Information
This posting is for a newly created role at Klick.
The base salary range for this position is between CAD $125,000 - $145,000. The final amount offered will be determined based on several factors such as a candidate’s work location, their unique skill set, education, and prior work experience.
