Job Description

The Director of Cardiopulmonary Services provides 24-hour management of cardiorespiratory services and personnel.  The position is responsible for policy and procedure development, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, development of an annual operating and capital budget, as well as hiring, disciplining and evaluating employees in the department.  The Director frequently provides direct patient care requiring advanced assessment skills and the ability to intervene in complex patient care situations. 

Qualifications

What is required...

  • Graduate  of a two or four year National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) approved program in Respiratory Care;
  • Currently licensed in the State of Washington to practice respiratory therapy;
  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist status with NBRC and Registry eligible;
  • Eight years of clinical respiratory/cardiopulmonary experience with a minimum or 2 of those years in a charge or leadership position;
  • Current CPR card (maintenance required);
  • ACLS card within 6 months of hire;(maintenance required);
  • PALS card within 6 months of hire (maintenance required);
  • NRP card within 6 months of hire (maintenance required).

What is preferred...

  • Three years of supervisory experience as a manager or director
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist with the NBRC;
  • Exposure to or knowledge of Lean principles in a healthcare setting;
  • Work and/or educational experience that promoted group/team relations;
  • Two years specific to adult and pediatric care delivery;
  • One year of tertiary level respiratory care or geriatric respiratory care delivery.

Additional Information

Wage:  Wage range currently starts at $85,280/year and goes up to $135,200/year. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience.
