Job Description

Responsible for providing lactation management services to expectant and new parents. These functions are performed in accordance with KVH’s philosophy, policies, procedures and standards. Focuses on assisting breastfeeding women and their families define and achieve their breastfeeding goals by providing evidence based care, customer services, and cultural sensitivity. Responsible for developing a lactation program that encompasses community partners, providers, patients and staff.  Work primarily during the day, however may need to schedule classes on weekends or evening, dependent on the needs of the patient.

Qualifications

  • 2 years previous experience in maternal-child health nursing

  • Obtain Lactation Consultant certification (IBCLC) within 1 year

  • NRP within 3 months

  • Reliable transportation with valid automobile insurance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current RN License in state of WA

  • BSN or Masters in nursing

  • Previous experience as Lactation Consultant

  • Currently certified as Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
