Job Description

  • Participate in the product development cycle including requirements analysis, design, validation, implementation, documentation, and ongoing support
  • Utilize Solidworks to create new and update existing parametric models
  • Prepare design documentation such as Drawings, Engineering Specifications and Test Reports for new and existing components
  • Compile & publish Standard Operating Procedures for shop floor assembly instruction
  • Design and create production jigs, fixtures, and tools
  • Assist team in identifying process improvements
  • Hands on work in support of prototype development
  • Develop project plans, coordinate activities and report on project status
  • Create and update boat layout drawings and models
  • Miscellaneous Product Development projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree Program or Technical Diploma Program with a Major in Engineering
  • Completion of first year or greater
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent follow up skills 
  • Working knowledge of computer application software 
  • Experience using Auto Cad and Solid Works preferred
  • Must be flexible and able to work overtime when required
  • Must be organized and work well with constant priority changes
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Additional Information

Kingfisher Boats provides an excellent learning environment for engineering Interns. The goal of our co-op program is to develop future engineering resources for our organization while providing support to our design and process engineers. We structure the co-op assignments so that the candidates develop the ability with each new work term to accept an increasing level of complexity and self-reliance. Candidates must be available for a 4-8 month assignment during the Fall/Winter of 2019.
