Job Description

The stockroom assistant receives shipments, checks for shipment accuracy, stocks items in the warehouse and/or on the shop floor, maintains inventory, and returns any defective merchandise. Assists in unloading shipments to the store, factory, or warehouse. Operating forklift.

What will you do?

  • Answer radio calls from production staff.
  • Receive and put away stock.
  • Support inventory process.
  • Assist with all other Parts Room Duties.

Qualifications

What do you need to succeed?

  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • 1 years' experience in the parts/warehouse industry preferred.
  • Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting.
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Working knowledge of safe lifting methods.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Additional Information

  • Regual periodss during which there is continuous physical effort is required, e.g., walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. 
  • Exposure to factors such as temperature variations/extremes, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, toxic materials which may cause periods of discomfort. 
  • Frequent need to give concentrated attention, either hearing or seeing to work being performed. 
  • Noticeable pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands exists.
