Job Description
As a Finishing Technician, you will work alongside Assembly Technicians ensuring all boats are ready to be shipped by their deadlines. This includes being able to work as a functioning member of the Assembly team and to have the ability to prioritize tasks and shift priorities if required.
What will you do?
- Installing canvas, glass, decals and various small boat options.
- Prepare completed boats and parts for shipping by conducting a thorough cleaning after assembly.
- Shrink wrap boats and components using appropriate materials to minimize risk of damage during transport.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the build process to prevent errors and minimize loss.
- Working efficiently within the team to meet shipping deadlines.
- Ensure work area and shop are kept clean and organized throughout the day and at the end of the shift.
- Follow all applicable KingFisher Boats and WorkSafeBC Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
Qualifications
What do you need to succeed?
- Experience operating shrink wrap equipment such as a tape-gun, razor knife and box cutter;
- Work experience in industrial, manufacturing or a production-line environment is an asset;
- Ability to quickly learn new job tasks and flexibility to work on different jobs as needed;
- Good manual dexterity, legible handwriting and ability to read written directions;
- High attention to detail is required in order to achieve quality standards;
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying is required;
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Working Conditions
- Regular periods during which there is continuous physical effort is required, e.g., walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward;
- Exposure to factors such as temperature variations, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, toxic materials which may cause periods of discomfort, high noise levels;
- Frequent need to give concentrated attention, either hearing or seeing to work being performed;
- Noticeable pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands exists.

Candidates must be available for either shift:
- Day Shift - Monday to Friday – 4:45 am to 1:15 pm
- Afternoon Shift - Monday to Thursday – 1:30 pm to 12:00 am
