Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Stock Control
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming materials and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records (manual or software-based).
- Conduct regular stock takes and reconcile physical counts with system records.
- Track and report slow-moving, damaged, or excess stock (dead stock).
Material Handling & Storage
- Organize proper storage of materials to avoid damage and ensure easy access.
- Issue materials to site teams promptly and record all material movements.
- Enforce FIFO/LIFO practices as per material type and usage requirements.
Site Support
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid project delays.
- Coordinate with procurement and site engineers on material forecasts and deliveries.
- Manage emergency or short-notice material requests from site.
Process & Reporting
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly material usage and inventory reports.
- Report discrepancies, losses, or theft immediately.
- Ensure documentation of goods received (GRN), material issue slips, and return notes.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment.
- Comply with safety procedures and ensure safe material handling.
- Enforce access control to the store to prevent unauthorized entry.
Tools & Equipment
- Maintain a log of tools and equipment issued to personnel.
- Monitor the return condition of tools and manage minor maintenance.
- Track calibration/inspection dates for critical tools.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- High school diploma or relevant technical qualification
- Certification in warehouse/inventory management (desirable)
Experience:
- 3–5 years in a similar role in a construction or industrial setting
- Familiarity with MEP/electrical materials and consumables is an advantage
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills (Excel, stock control software)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Stock accuracy rate
- On-time material issuance
- Inventory turnover rate
- Number of stock-outs or material delays
- Material wastage and dead stock value
- Reporting accuracy and frequency
- Compliance with safety and audit standards
Work Environment & Conditions:
- Site-based with office visits as required.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- May require occasional overtime to meet project demands.
