Job Description
Wilkes University invites applicants for Adjunct Faculty Positions in the Passan School of Nursing Psych Mental Health Graduate Nursing Program.
The successful candidate is responsible for teaching Graduate Nursing courses online for the Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program and has an excellent understanding and experience in Psych/Mental Health in the following course areas:
- Clinical Modalities in Advanced Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice (526)
- Psychopathology Theories (527)
- Advanced Clinical Modalities
- Advance Practice in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing I and II (535 & 536)
- Psychopharmacology (552)
- Scholarly Preparation for Nurse Practitioner Boards
Qualifications
- Unencumbered RN and CRNP licenses in state of residence
- Must be eligible for RN and NP licensure in PA (will need NP PA licensure before teaching clinical courses)
- Nationally board-certified PMHNP with a minimum of 2 years of practice experience
- Must have a current active PMHNP practice
- Demonstrated expertise in team communication and taking a lead role in multi-level problem solving with students, preceptors, clinical sites, clinical placement staff, Wilkes University administration and staff
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and grade clinical logs, offering students feedback for improvement as needed, using InPlace, a clinical log documentation system
- A minimum of 2 years of successful online teaching experience for both didactic and clinical courses for an accredited university at the graduate level
- Proven ability to engage students in active learning to meet required course and program outcomes
- Experience with learning management systems (LMSs); D2L / Brightspace preferred
