Job Description

The ideal candidate will assist with all aspects of review, analysis, recommendations and implementation of ITSM within a large State Government agency. The role will facilitate governance forums (for operational governance and tactical governance), frequency to be determined. Responsibilities will include the following: maintain a consolidated Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies (RAID) tracker, provide escalations to internal teams as ‘early warning indicators’ to project implementation. Ensure generation of periodic status updates at overall Executive Leadership level. Consultant will be responsible for portions of implementation, leading small teams, performing and reviewing detailed analysis and developing solution recommendations. Provide support to internal team in the area of ITIL process definition. Must be able to work independently and as part of larger team.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with agency ITD Leadership to facilitate creation, implementation and monitoring of an effective Governance & quality assurance framework
  • Assess current maturity of ITSM and work with internal team to build roadmap for ITSM implementation
  •  Provide guidance to set standards and processes, within the context of IT service priorities
  • Assist with development of internal controls, best practices initiatives by proactively exploring control deficiencies associated with IT systems and processes
  • Implement the Governance & quality assurance framework
  • Ensure internal controls and process compliance across IT organization through regular audits, following a risk-based approach that balances efforts with risks, risk identification and management / mitigation 
  • Ensure all communications are clear, effective and appropriately targeted 
  • Responsible for coaching the project team and encouraging compliance to processes. Analyses as-is process of ITIL v4 aligned Service Management (Service management lifecycle) for the SM tower. 
  • Provides subject matter expertise to process Owners and process working group members on ITIL v4 and Service management. 
  • Gathers requirements on ITIL v4 aligned service management processes. 
  • Finalizes process flows and process assets and facilitating process definition
  • Assist with service management process architecture and process assets. 
  • Coordinates with team to provide the right inputs for process definitions. 
  • Reviews the deliverables provided by the team before they are presented to the process owners and stakeholders. 
  • Conducts impacts assessment of process managers. 
  • Ensure Stakeholder management of process owner/Managers. 
  • Escalating issues related to respective project/work stream to the engagement team. 
     

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 6 - 8 Year of overall experience in ITSM practice in managing various ITIL process roles. 
  • 3 - 4 Year of Experience in ITSM practice in managing ITIL processes like Governance, IM, CM, PM Etc. 
  • Should have excellent process understanding, experienced in process designing and process mapping in at least 2 ITSM Engagements.  
  • Should be practitioner in the area, focused on core IT Service Management / ITIL functions. 
  • ITIL v4 Expert/ 

 
 
Desired Skills :

  • Experience with implementation in medium to large organization
  • State Government experience preferred         
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with 
  • Project Management methodology such as Agile, Lean etc.  Certification will be preferred. 
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 21500:2012, ISO 20000, ISO 9001, Six Sigma & COBIT 
  • Should possess strong Analytical, Problem Solving, Leadership, Negotiation and liaising skills.
  • Strong client engagement and Presentation skills. 
  • Should be an excellent team player.
