Its flagship location on Louisville, KY’s historic Museum Row, welcomes visitors from across the globe with 3-floors of interactive exhibits and films on a 4-story screen. With daily programming for children, families, and adults, the Science Center plays an ongoing role in the region as a resource for caregivers and teachers, a gathering place for the science community, and a chosen source of entertainment for all. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting Visitors: Welcome all visitors with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Providing Information: Offer information about the organization.
  • Directing Visitors: Guide visitors to specific areas within the facility or premises.
  • Answering Inquiries: Respond to visitor inquiries and provide accurate information or direct them to appropriate staff members.
  • Assisting with Accessibility: Ensure accessibility needs are met and provide assistance as required.
  • Monitoring Entry and Exit: Maintain awareness of entry and exit points, ensuring security and safety protocols are followed.
  • Promoting a Positive Atmosphere: Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors.
  • Maintaining Awareness: Stay informed about current and upcoming events to effectively communicate with visitors.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers to enhance the visitor experience.

     

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in various situations.
  • Knowledge of the organization's mission and services (training provided).
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Previous customer service experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
