As Product Owner for our Sales & CRM domain, owning the Salesforce Sales Cloud backlog and the end-to-end Subscription to Cash (S2C) process. You will translate strategic business needs into a well-defined technical backlog, steer external development partners, and ensure the platform serves as the API-first cornerstone of our headless architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Engineering: Translate business needs from the Sales & CRM Business Owner and stakeholders into user stories, technical specifications, and process flows.
Backlog & Roadmap Management: Own and manage the Salesforce Sales Cloud backlog and capability roadmap, prioritized by business value and clearly communicated to stakeholders.
Technical Leadership & Vendor Steering: Steer external Salesforce development and L2/L3 support partners to deliver scalable, maintainable Sales Cloud solutions — enforcing governor-limit-aware design, declarative-first configuration over custom Apex, secure data access (profiles, permission sets, sharing rules), and adherence to Salesforce Well-Architected principles.
API-First Enablement: Partner with the E2E IT Architect to expose CRM data and functionality through a documented API layer serving the headless frontend and downstream systems.
Process Optimization: Drive the continuous improvement of the Subscription to Cash (S2C) process within Salesforce, identifying and implementing new features and automation to increase sales efficiency and data quality.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Informatics, or a related field.
Experience and Know-how: 5+ years as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Technical Lead in a Salesforce Sales Cloud environment, with a focus on enterprise-level implementations. In-depth knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including advanced configuration, customization, data modeling, and deep experience with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk, Streaming). Strong, practical understanding of Subscription to Cash business processes, including quoting, order management, billing, and revenue recognition. Demonstrated experience managing a technical backlog in an agile environment (Scrum / Kanban) using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
Must haves: Salesforce certifications (e.g., Certified Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, Platform App Builder); experience with Salesforce CPQ; familiarity with headless / composable commerce architectures.
Personality and Working Style: Analytical, structured, and comfortable with ambiguity; excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with a proven ability to manage expectations and build consensus across business and technical audiences.
Languages: Fluent English (written and spoken) required; working German preferred.
