Job Description

Operations & Maintenance Oversight

  • Asset Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of Metal Recovery facilities, ensuring consistent uptime, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize asset lifespan and minimize downtime.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze operational KPIs, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase asset performance.

Regulatory Compliance & Environmental Standards

  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all facilities comply with local, national, and international environmental, safety, and operational regulations. Keep updated on regulatory changes and integrate them into operational practices.
  • Environmental Management: Monitor emissions, waste management, and other environmental impact metrics to ensure compliance with environmental standards and company sustainability goals.
  • Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce KVI’s safety protocols, ensuring all team members adhere to safety standards and practices to prevent incidents.

Leadership & Coordination

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor operations and maintenance teams, fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Training & Development: Develop and conduct training sessions for team members (internal and external) on operations best practices, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, acquisition, and sustainability departments, to support overall asset management goals.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on operational performance, maintenance activities, and compliance status for senior management and external stakeholders (e.g. SPV).

Risk Management

  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments of operations and maintenance practices, identifying potential compliance or operational risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Incident Response: Oversee incident investigations and root cause analyses for operational or safety incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and documented.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; MBA or CAS in Economics and/or certifications on PMP/IPMA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, operations, construction and maintenance, with at least 5 years in a relevant role, ideally within the renewable energy or Waste-to-Energy sectors.
  • Proficiency in asset management systems, maintenance planning, and regulatory compliance tools. Experience with Metal Recovery or WtE technologies is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, national, and international regulatory standards related to environmental protection, safety, and energy production (EU) are a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in performance data analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
