My client provides low-mid volume, highly complex, manufacturing solutions to a wide range of customers across a broad range of industries. Privately owned and with a global footprint, my Client is a market leader in the design, innovation and production of its specialist products.
Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will oversee all operational responsibility at the North West site. This is a newly created role and will require the incumbent, with the support of the board, to develop and deploy a strategic manufacturing plan that includes manufacturing site capacity planning, automation technologies, deployment of lean methodology, customer relationships and talent optimisation that is aligned with the overall business strategy and operative objectives.
Within your role as Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal part in the forward planning and risk management of the Supply Chain. This will include the issuing of POs, developing, leading and executing local purchasing strategies and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
As Operations Manager, you will be tasked with the development of your team through effective communication, coaching and training. In line with the principles of the Group, you will provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate best practice and improved working relationships.
The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will have-
- A strong technical background ideally with an engineering degree
- Extensive experience of working with operational responsibility within a complex manufacturing environment
- Experience of implementing and driving lean methodology in a low volume environment with long lead times
- Experience in implementing best practices in operations, quality systems, and health & safety.
- Cultivated positive working relationships with employees, peers and superiors.
- A tenacious/self- starter attitude with a will to succeed by doing the right thing for the business.
- Experience of developing and executing a sourcing and supply chain strategy in a similar complex manufacturing environment.
