Job Description

Our Client is a small, profitable and rapidly expanding Design and Manufacturer of Specialist Engineered Systems for the global automotive aftermarket. They have an enviable reputation for Product design and quality and currently have a dealer network across the UK and the rest of Continental Europe.

A new product has recently been launched and the order book is currently full. The next challenge for the business is to completely review current operations with a view to creating an agile organisation that can deliver 2-3 times the current maximum output, efficiently and cost effectively.

This expansion needs to be carefully managed, and the Managing Director is currently looking to recruit a Manufacturing Manager to help initiate and implement these developments.

The main-focus of this role is to successfully manage the day to day running of production, supply chain, product delivery, warranty/after sales.

Key responsibilities will be to: -

·Achieve production and operational objectives working closely with the MD.

·Closely manage the supply chain to ensure a smooth flow of product through the factory.

·Develop system improvements.

·Develop and grow your team to be champions of quality and continuous improvement.

·Coordinate business process improvement priorities.

·Understand and fix production constraints, through being a visible presence around the business that is seen to be positive and proactive.

·Look to the future to understand the impact of the next wave of product launches to minimise disruption.

The successful Manufacturing Manager will: -

·Have gained their experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally automotive or related sector.

·Be an excellent people manager who enjoys maximising team potential.

·Be a hands-on problem solver with excellent analytical and organizational skills

·Be process driven and will introduce standardisation across the facility wherever possible.

·Be customer focused and commercially aware.

This will be a high paced, challenging position and will work as part of a close-knit management team. Based on success, the role has the potential to develop into a full Operations Director position as the organisation continues to grow.
