Job Description

As the Assistant Payroll Manager, you will assist the Payroll Operations Manager in keeping the department focused, energized and motivated through the execution of various tasks and deadlines. You will also oversee new client onboarding and client training. You will learn all aspects of running a payroll service bureau, such as processing payrolls, making tax payments, reconciling internal bank accounts and preparing quarterly/annual tax statements.   

Time pressures, due to various tasks and deadlines, must be managed efficiently in order to be successful in achieving YPD goals. Monitoring and coordinating daily activities to ensure the YPD team members are maintaining their workflow and completing tasks in a timely manner is essential, as well as building a good rapport with clients and co-workers.  

To succeed in this position, the Assistant Payroll Manager will be proficient in several software programs: Outlook, Excel, Word, and most importantly, in time, iSolved payroll software. 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with iSolved Payroll or similar payroll processing software preferred, but not required. 
  • Knowledge of taxes is required, specifically advanced knowledge in payroll taxes is preferred. 
  • Strong coaching, training, and motivating skills essential. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, utilizing diplomacy and tact to diffuse high-tension situations. 
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and QuickBooks is preferred. 
  • Understanding of ACA legislation is a plus
