Job Description

To provide qualified surgical assistance when requested by the surgeon, in order to ensure optimal results for the patient. This position is adjunct to the basic functions of the OR Nurse.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years of perioperative nursing experience required.

Education

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing required.
  • Successful completion of an RN First Assistant Program to include a multi-specialty didactic component and seventy-five (75) hours clinical experience required.

License, Certification, Registration

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in jurisdiction required.
  • Certification for Professional Achievement in Perioperative Practice (CNOR) required.
  • Current RN License in Maryland (or compact state) is required.
  • Current BLS certification.
