Job Description

In Kaelo, the Business Analyst (BA) provides a range of analysis and design capabilities across various stakeholders and business areas. The BA is a key member within the Kaelo technology team, who is fundamental in playing an interface across business areas and designing the best business and technical solutions. The BA will be responsible for gathering and understanding the business needs of members within specific projects or across the organisation. The BA will ensure together with the IT department, that the requirements are accurately translated into system development. The BA must play both a business requirement translation, as well as a system specification role in Kaelo.

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

·       Obtain and critically evaluate requirements through interviews with both business and IT, through analysis and through business process reviews.

·       Decompose high-level information into details, abstract and summarise low-level information to a general understanding and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.

·       Analyse business processes within the company and recommending projects to improve the effectiveness of those processes.

·       Improve data and information processes and databases where opportunities arise to mature data quality and availability.

·       Produce a range of deliverables of high quality, typically associated with business and system analysis such as BRDs, system specifications, user interface designs, process flows, user cases, test cases, etc.

·       Be an excellent team player that ensures clarity and coordination between business, project and IT teams.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Work experience:

·       4-6 years working experience in a Business Analysis position.

·       Practical work experience on software development projects and business improvement initiatives.

·       Strong IT skills, and also has some experience in getting involved with system analysis activities and deliverables.

Technical Skills:

·       MS Office with advanced Excel.

·       Strong ability to work with, analyse, visualise and report on data.

·       Excellent technical writing skills.

·       Process design and optimisation skills.

Education

·       Batchelors Degree in Computer or Data Sciences (preferred)

·       Advantageous: Qualifications or short courses in business analysis and design.

·       Advantageous: Qualifications or short courses in enterprise architecture models or methods.

·       Advantageous: Qualifications or short courses in software development.

·       Advantageous: Short courses in data analysis, trending, reporting, visualisation or other data techniques.
