Job Description
The Digital Learning Designer is responsible for the analysis of training needs for the business, the design and development of all online learning modules, programmes and assessments, uploading of modules onto digital platforms as well as the evaluation of the programme as a whole.
They will also be responsible for the coordination and production of all images needed for the organisation’s content team. The right candidate has experience in a variety of design software and a proven ability to produce entertaining, educational, and/or inspirational visual content that is consistent with the brand’s “look and feel.”
Key Outcomes
Analysis
Conduct a full training needs analysis per learning requirement including:
- Audience
- Current situation analysis
- Gap analysis
- Behavioural and cognitive outcomes / purpose and goal of intervention
- Timeline for the project
Design
Create a detailed design framework of the learning intervention including:
- Documentation of intervention’s instructional, visual and design strategy
- Apply instructional strategies according to intended outcome of training
- Create storyboards
- Design user interface and user experience
- Apply visual design
- Collaborates closely with other members of the team to brainstorm and plan upcoming campaigns / initiatives by determining the scope and realistic deadlines for various design content
Development
Develop the learning intervention ensuring the below:
- Creation and assembly of content assets which are developed with a high standard of quality
- Creates accurate graphics, charts, graphs, etc., that visually supports initiatives.
- Video recording and editing
- Programme is developed according to Corporate Identity guidelines and in line with the Kaelo Personality
- Testing is conducted
- Updates / changes are implemented
- Project timelines are adhered to
Implementation
- Ensure the learning intervention is properly implemented
- Ensure course is uploaded on digital platform and tested
- Ensure course and assessments are tracking correctly
- Ensure Workforce Planner is notified and has planned learning schedule
- Communicate learning interventions and schedules
Evaluation
Evaluate learner results and programme including the follow:
- Track and trend learners results
- Create leader boards and communicate to business through select communication channel
- Evaluate whether learning intervention met intended outcomes
- Create learner feedback surveys
- Ensure feedback etc. is added into the analysis step to ensure continuous improvement
- Identify additional training requirements
- Review of stakeholder feedback for any creative marketing elements for future development and improvement
Project Management
- Agile project management methodology is followed
Qualifications
Required
- Design Outcomes-Based Learning Programme
- Develop Outcomes-Based Learning Programmes
Preferred
- Evaluate A Learning Intervention Using Given Evaluation Instruments
Work Experience
Required
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in digital instructional design
- 1 – 3 years in the Healthcare Industry
- Design Platforms – Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Articulate 360, Animation Tools such as Vyond and Acrobat Pro.
- Design Principles – Comprehensive understanding of design principles for desktop and mobile layouts.
- Creative – Excellent creative and design skills with proficiency in typography, colour, layout, composition, imagery, and video, as evidenced by a professional portfolio.
