Job Description

As a Senior Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving product vision, business value delivery, and stakeholder alignment across complex initiatives. You will apply Business Analysis and Product Ownership techniques independently, working closely with business and technology teams to translate business needs into actionable requirements and product outcomes.

You will play a key role in defining product direction, managing and prioritizing the product backlog, facilitating collaboration across stakeholders, and ensuring that solutions align with business objectives. In addition, you will contribute to strategic discussions, support agile delivery practices, mentor colleagues, and help drive continuous improvement within the BA and Product Ownership community.

The role combines product management, business analysis, data-driven decision making, and agile delivery, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, KPI definition, reporting requirements, and value maximization.

Product Ownership

  • Define and maintain product vision and direction.
  • Own and prioritize the Product Backlog.
  • Lead backlog refinement activities and define acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure Product Backlog Items meet the Definition of Ready.
  • Apply story decomposition and story elaboration techniques.
  • Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies.
  • Support Scrum Master responsibilities when required.
  • Create and maintain:
    • Vision Statement
    • Product Roadmap
    • Release and Iteration Plans
    • Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
    • Story Maps
    • Personas and User Stories
    • Storyboards

Data & Reporting

  • Analyze business needs and reporting requirements.
  • Identify and define KPIs aligned with business objectives.
  • Analyze current data sources, integration processes, and data architecture.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable deliverables for development teams.
  • Validate datasets, dashboards, and reports to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and gather continuous feedback.
  • Recommend improvements in reporting, analytics, KPI measurement, and data visualization practices.

Stakeholder & Agile Leadership

  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and objectives.
  • Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Promote Agile principles, continuous improvement, and value-driven delivery.
  • Support mentoring and knowledge sharing within Product Ownership and Business Analysis communities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Business, Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Proxy Product Owner, Business Analyst, or a similar role in software development environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Business Analysis standards and practices (IIBA, BCS, PMI).
  • Hands-on experience with Agile frameworks such as Scrum and/or SAFe.
  • Proven experience managing and prioritizing Product Backlogs.
  • Experience defining Product Vision, Roadmaps, MVPs, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and Release Plans.
  • Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, modelling, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Ability to define KPIs and translate business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Knowledge of data management, relational databases, and reporting concepts.
  • Experience with SQL, Excel, Power BI, or similar analytics and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
